Krakatoa / FumeFX / Deadline issues

Hi Ben,

I haven’t seen any problems like this myself. Would you be able to describe the process further? What is in the scene? Are you submitting a Krakatoa render job that does this?

Even better, I’d love to have a scene so I can try and reproduce the error.

A few juicy bits of of the log files you provided are:

Are you sure these aren’t real problems?

I know you said you can render these scenes locally. I assume that is on an artist’s workstation. Have you tried manually starting max and rendering these scenes on these slaves?

Cheers,
Darcy

When making a response, there is a tab just below the Submit button where you can upload an attachment. I’m not sure what the size limit is. If it refuses the attachment, you could email it directly to me at darcy.harrison AT primefocusworld.com. If its still to crazy big, let me know and I can set up an FTP server for you.

Ben,

In the file you sent me I don’t see any FumeFx objects … Is that on purpose?

The only particles in this scene is a PFlow object with a few forces applied. Is this scene indicative of what is throwing those error messages on Deadline?

Can you please provide instructions on how you would submit this scene to Deadline.

Hi Ben,

I haven’t been able to reproduce your crash using the file you sent yet. One thing I’d like you to try though is submit the file without the render element and see if that is the cause. Let me know how that goes.

Also, can you confirm that you are using the latest version? Its 1.6.0.43376 and should be visible at the top of the Krakatoa GUI rollout.

That information is perfect, thank you. Hopefully I’ll narrow down the exact problem as soon as possible.
